MERLOT: Still Blazing the Trail and Meeting New Challenges in the
Digital Age

AUGUST 7 – 10, 2008

Hosted by Minnesota State Colleges and Universities

Trail blazers do more than keep people on the right path. They help people see where to begin and provide direction. How can educators and users of instructional technology around the world prepare for a future filled with technology that provides content at a faster-and-faster pace? How can instructional technology be used to enhance teaching and learning? Who will organize all this change?

MIC 08 is designed to foster learning, innovation and practice in the use of information and communications technologies in higher education. It serves faculty, instructional designers, authors of digital content, administrators, librarians, technology leaders, and enthusiastic users of MERLOT who recognize the need to remain current on educational practice and theory. Participants in the conference represent most disciplines and everyone from the novice to the online expert benefits from this meeting!

The MIC08 Conference Planning Committee and the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities welcome you to the eighth MERLOT International Conference in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. I believe that when we first selected the Concentration for the conrference it was Education, which should include Library and Faculty Development as well as Teacher Education.
